Welcome!

Marhaban! My name is Sean and I am a senior at Central Michigan University, studying International Relations/Comparative Politics with an emphasis on the Middle East. I am about to embark on a semester in Amman, Jordan where I am excited to put my mediocre orienteering prowess and basic Arabic skills to work.

Preface

As students start moving back to campus and friends start anticipating the upcoming semester it makes me think about what I will be missing. Tailgating and football games, working both of my jobs, and the good friends that I have made since freshman year.

However, the brevity of this thought is astonishing when I think of how I will be half a world away, in an environment that I have never experienced before, and a culture that is in stark contrast to ours. I think not of what I will miss, but rather what new experiences lie ahead of me.

I just booked my airline ticket; this single action has increased my excitement twofold. The finality of this action proves that I am not dreaming, and that in one month I will be studying, living, and adjusting to a foreign country for a semester.
